#1221!

I picked up my packet this afternoon :) Racer #1221 is good to go!

I'm a little disappointed in this year's shirts. Last year's were awesome - white long sleeve, with the bright green, swirly logo across the chest. They really stood out. This year's are dark grey, with a very faint logo. You can barely tell it's a race shirt, it just looks like a plain boring ol' grey shirt. My volunteer shirt from last year looks better than this one - Ug! I'm double bummed because I forgot my wallet at home, so I wasn't able to pick up any of the expo goodies :( I'll just have to go back tomorrow afternoon for the pasta party and spend a little cash on a different shirt too.

I also have some very exciting news - my sil Erin is doing the half marathon :D

I am soooo doggone excited for her! We had no clue she was training for or even thinking about doing a half until she asked Chris to carpool to the start. I doubt I'm going to be able to keep up with her, especially over the first 8 miles with those hills. (They're not bad hills, I run them in training all the time, but I just don't want to pay for those hills at mile 22 lol.) I'm looking to keep an 11:04 pace so I'm sure she'll be flying past me. But just think - we'll be one big happy Mulk-tastic family this weekend. Chris and Jason out there cheering on me and Erin :) How much fun!!

Now the only thing left to do is rest and relax. I'm frighteningly under-trained and over-weight for this marathon, but nothing I can do about that right now. Makes me hungrier for Seattle, but all I can do now is focus on putting one foot in front of the other, staying strong, fighting the good fight in the face of my doubts and weakness on Sunday. For now, rest and relax. Whatever happens will happen and as long as I get over that finish line, it's going to be all right...

Hello! I found you via Kara's blog. I was disappointed in the shirts this year, too!

I see you are doing Newport later this month! Wow! Are you applying for Maniac status? :D

Too bad our shirts weren't tie-dyed like the volunteers' were lol

I've already qualified as a bronze level Maniac back in 2006, but I've been slackass to the extreme about actually sending in the cash to make my status official...
